What is the Roshan Gharana scheme?

Who is eligible?

  • Low monthly electricity usage (broadly in the 0–200 units range).
  • Low household income (reported around Rs 60,000 per month or below).

Eligible households receive a free small solar system — typically in the range of about 500 watts to 1 kilowatt, including panels, an inverter, a battery and installation. That is enough to run basic loads such as lights, fans, phone charging and a TV, giving relief from load-shedding and high bills.

How to apply

Applications are handled by the Punjab government through official channels — typically the scheme’s online portal (cmsolarscheme.punjab.gov.pk) and an SMS registration option. Because phases, deadlines and exact details change, always apply through the official government portal and verify the current requirements there.
